2019

24 March: from 3.30, I shall be talking about Marwood-Lovett, The King’s Evil and much else at Anthology Extended, the weekend literary festival at Cheltenham’s Parmoor House.

4 April: I shall be launching The King’s Evil, the new Marwood-Lovett novel, at the Main Place in Coleford from 6.30 p.m. You can pre-order signed copies from Rossiter Books.

11 April: I shall be talking about The King’s Evil at Rossiter Books’s Ross-on-Wye branch.

16 April: I shall be talking about The King’s Evil and about writing crime and historical fiction at Brendon Books in Taunton, at 6.30 p.m. Event details here.

6-11 May: I shall be tutoring the Arvon fiction course with Claire Fuller at The Hurst, formerly John Osborne’s country home in Shropshire.

21 May: I shall be appearing with Laura Shepherd-Robinson in a historical crime fiction double bill at a Brighton Crime Wave hosted by Waterstones in Brighton. Details to follow.

22 May: I shall be talking about The King’s Evil, the Marwood-Lovett Series and much else at the Hungerford Hub, in an event arranged by Hungerford Bookshop.

16-18 August: I shall be speaking (this time about Josephine Tey) at St Hilda’s College Crime Fiction Weekend in Oxford. This year’s theme is ‘Game Changers’.

14 November: reissue of The Second Midnight in paperback and ebook. Originally published in 1988, this novel blends the spy novel with the family saga. It is set partly in Wartime Prague.
